  • “The warmth isn't just from the weather, but from the people and it didn't stop after first year. I'm constantly presented with opportunities to grow, connect, and expand my dreams because UBCO gives me the space to make it happen.”

  • Head shot of Fikayo

“When I received my UBCO admission, I couldn't believe my eyes. It felt like I had waited years to receive the email which would determine my future. It was such a surreal feeling knowing all my hard work and studying had paid off. That I would finally be able to study the course of my dreams!”

Fikayo A. | BA, Political Science, Philosophy and Economics
  • “To me, UBCO is the perfect mix between getting that world-renowned education and resources, while still knowing your professors on a first-name basis and being able to make connections that you otherwise wouldn't elsewhere. I've never felt like just another student that my professors have to teach a course to and then rinse and repeat the next year. You can see the effort that goes into curating and preparing classes every week and how they personalize lectures to best fit the needs of the class.”

    Borna N. | BSC Psychology
  • Headshot of Nejat

“One of my favourite UBCO memories would be blasting music throughout Nicola (one of the residences on campus) during move-in day for first-year students. We had so much fun meeting everyone and their families, and even ended up having a few dance battles! It was really special to be part of creating the same kind of welcoming experience that made me excited when I first joined UBCO.”

“My favourite UBCO memory would be way back in Jump Start, when there was a dance circle formed during the bonfire night. My friend could tell I wanted to join but was too nervous to hop in, so she pushed me into the circle. That one push not only gave me the confidence to dance that night, but also pushed me to make my journey at UBCO my own. To say I would not be who I am today without that is a huge understatement!”
